Obituary of Peter Alvin Wisneski

Peter Alvin Wisneski, 85 of Saginaw passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born December 15, 1935 in Cloquet to Stanley and Myrtle (Erickson) Wisneski. He grew up in Cloquet and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1953. Peter married Joan St. Mane on July 27, 1957 however, a life changing decision, better than marrying Joan, was made at age 33 when he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Peter worked at Potlatch for 31 years. He served in the Army National Guard for 12 years. He was an active member of Gethsemane Covenant Church, Gideons International and the Potlatch Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling, camping and traveling. Peter was always there to help family and friends. Peter was preceded in death by one son, James; daughter-in-law, Laura Wisneski; and a brother, Stanley Wisneski. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan; sons, Peter Jr. of Saginaw, David (Janelle) of Oxford, Georgia, Paul of San Antonio, Texas; and John (Cheryl) of Duluth; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Eric) Kalberg, Matthew, Morgan, Sarah, Benjamin and Emily Wisneski; sister, Mary Ann Kerman; and brother, Sherman (Helen) Wisneski. Visitation: 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. Memorial Service Friday, June 4, 2021 in Gethsemane Covenant Church, 4479 Ugstad Rd, Hermantown. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service. Burial will be in Pine River Cemetery in Cloquet. Masks by personal preference.
