Mike was my brother. I have so many memories of him! The silliest is when, as children, he convinced my other siblings to gang up on me during what was supposed to be a fair fight; with mashed potatoes! I miss you so very much. May you find comfort in God's arms.

I knew Mike during his years with the State Patrol, first as an RCO and then later as a Commercial Vehicle Inspector. It was often a highlight when in the office if Mike was encountered at the radio console. If it wasn't dramatically busy, there was usually more than a single story or even two that he would regail us with. His sense of humor would often take a wry twist, and more than once I told him that his patron saint must have been Ambrose Bierce.
When he became a Vehicle Inspector his work intensity and attention to detail became more evident. The transition from the radio room to the weigh station seemingly required not so much effort on his part.
And then those stories..........

So very sorry to hear of Mike's passing...he was such a funny and witty guy, completely unforgettable as a friend and co-worker. He made us laugh on a daily basis at the Sheriff's Department and I still tell stories to people about some of the crazy things he did. Tara, I know your family will miss him so much. Please take care!

Ahhh, sorry to hear of your family's loss. Mike trained me into the "jail world" and Corrections at the Carlton County Sheriff's Office. I went on to become the Jail Administrator for a number of years and retired a few years ago. Mike was definitely a unique and funny individual while at the same time, taking his job seriously with safety and security. I have fond memories of our short time together and it puts a smile on my face. When he went to work for the State Patrol, I maintained contact with him on work matters occasionally, and he was always friendly. I will remember him again this summer upon catching my first fish of the year. Take care.
