Lots of loving memories. She taught me how to take a shower!! She was always sweet to me like a second mother. I loved watching her make breakfast.

I was a neighbor to Signe and Eino for 14 years out on Cross Lake and always enjoyed my visits with them. She was a special lady and a good neighbor. She was always interested in what my family was doing and always invited us to visit again. I appreciated how we both shared the love of the Minnesota Twins baseball! On my last visit with her at the Villa a few years back, she wanted to know how my children and I were doing after so many years of not seeing her. What a great memory she had! She was such a gracious person who will be fondly missed!

I've known Signe for over 50 years, but it was in these last years when I got to know her even more. My job (driving truck) took me through Cromwell once a week. I'd stop and visit and she would tell me her stories in her aging voice, of her life, her past. Often when I stopped she would be reading the newspaper with a magnifying glass, trying to keep tabs on life in the bigger world. She would invite me into the lunchroom and introduce me to her friends. Once in awhile she would see that I had a bite to eat. Sometimes when I stopped they would be doing karaoke and we would sing old songs, like Sweet Adeline. Sometimes a person would play a guitar and we would sing along. I would leave there knowing I had another connection to my sister and brother-in-law, Fran & Den. Signe will be missed

We have many fond memories visiting the Pitkanen family at the lake with Fran and Dennis. Signe was such a sweet and gracious person....always welcoming us and our children. Fun on the lake, Signe's fabulous fish frys, and lots of laughter made those visits very special. May she Rest In Peace with her dear husband....

I have known Signe since I was a little girl when we would go to their lake home in the summer to watch the matinee movie and then go swimming and ice skating on the lake in the winter. A very kind, loving person who never complained and was always happy with her lot in life. She always referred to Karen, Marlyce and I as her girls. What a lady!!!!!
