I was so sad to hear of Duane's passing. I have very fond memories of Duane from when I was a little girl. Forty some years ago when he gave me the nick-name 'Selma" I bet he never would have thought it would have stayed with me...still lol!! In about the 3rd grade the boys in my class changed the S to a Z I will forever be Selma in my heart for Duane:purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

Duane was a gentle man, his gifted hands crafted many masterpiece's with wood even constructing log homes. I feel blessed to of know him. In my mind I can see his wonderful smile and his soft eyes. My sorrow goes out to his wife Shirley and the rest of his adoring family. RIP Duane.

I have been thinking and crying since I heard the news about Uncle Duane. Our Uncles and Aunties we grew up with are becoming more precious to us as the years go by. Many live only in our memories and the stories that we tell each other. Uncle was a gem, a rare one who not only was precious but also was one of my heros. There was only one other person besides Uncle who reached that status in my book and that was Grandpa John Laine. To be in my book as a hero there are few that can compare. Uncle was my John Wayne, Marshall Matt Dillon, Pa Ingalls, and John Walton all rolled into one gem of a man. He held me as I cried after Sue's accident, he disciplined us and we were glad to comply, he was soft spoken and kind hearted. Heros never die, they live on in our memories. Love to you all. Joni and family.

Auntie (Mom).
No words can express adequately enough what Uncle (Dad) meant to us and what a important part of our lives he was. I was always so excited to come stay overnight at your house. Uncle calling upstairs saying "SuSu time to quit talking and go to sleep ... " Dale started it!
The smell of wood smoke still reminds me of sauna at your house. Singing Up On The Housetop in July...click, click, click..same Old Nick! Or her hair was red, her name was Helen, her head was like a watermelon, she had brass knuckles made to order, now my teeth are scattered on the Tennessee border!! The beautiful table he made which we were blessed with when you moved to the apartment. It will always be a treasure to us. How many cups of coffee were served over it? The hugs, the kisses (always on the lips)! We knew he loved us like another Father. And we loved him!
Rest in peace Uncle... like we always said when parting.... love you! :kissing_heart::heart:

Auntie & Family,
A wonderful, caring, kind man taught us so much when we were growing up! That's my "Uncle"! We always loved coming to visit at your house and spending time together. His love for
everyone was so evident in all the things he did. He will be missed very much by us all. The sweet hugs he gave each time we left your home will be a fond memory I will always cherish. Love you, Uncle! I know you are with Jesus and He has made you new! Thank you for all the wonderful memories.
Love to all of your family.
